Happy Niu Year Feng Shui

Happy Lunar New Year to all. After a couple of late nights and heated discussions, we've finally finished building an eCard worth a giggle.

Master Zhan is a concept which takes the idea of displaced subtitles to a greeting level. We found that the re-subbed Hitler and ERP Woes hilariously funny and thought that applying it to a card and allowing users to custom their own subs was a pretty neat idea.

I was surprised at how tricky it was to cleverly craft a website to look like a early 2000s geocities site. It may look crap, but I found it harder to make something look bad than to make it look better.

The festive season was great. Been awhile since I managed to sit back and eat so much of Mum's good food. It was nice to hang out with my cousins again too. Switching on the telly on the eve of the Ox year, Channel 8 was having the usual variety CNY broadcast. In between commercial breaks, they had various Feng Shui masters speak about different aspects of the Ox year's zodiac forecast:

I think we hit it pretty spot on with our Chinoiserie aesthetic. The more 'obiang' the better! Red background with tiled oriental symbols, subtitles with black drop shadow, no spread, gold trimmings and Feng Shui Master with chinese collar - check!

Master Zhan is live at www.masterzhan.com, check it out! Prank a friend! Send some cheer!
Here's a premade one for you! Gong Xi Fa Cai and best wishes for this Ox year.
