Hello again after a long hiatus. My work "Weather Machines" has recently made the wraparound cover of INCUBATE magazine in Sydney. The good people at COFA have sent two copies to my doorstep. Thanks guys, much love.
"This issue of Incubate marks this significant moment of departure in the lives of emerging artists and designers. It’s an image packed issue intended to showcase visually the great range of ideas that the College of Fine Arts (COFA) graduates (recent as well as older) are exploring.
Gad Tan’s cover image sets the tone. Weather Machines is a spinning and strangely regulated explosion of gears, poles and hinges (the things that measure and predict the conditions of environments). Tan, who was recently described in Monument Magazine as a designer to ‘shape the things to come’, is interested in randomly generated and interactive spaces. Using a combination of hand-drawing and digital compositing to achieve his visual outcome, Tan’s work suggests infinite possibility."
You can get a copy of the magazine here.
Also, check out INCUBATE at The College of Fine Art's website over here. And yeah, I promise more frequent updates.
